First Aid Training for Year 6

Lesson: PSHE and citizenship

We arranged for Year 6 to be trained in First Aid with Manchester First Aid Training.  As much as we hope that our children never need to use the skills that they have learnt, we know that this knowledge can make a lifechanging difference.  In keeping with our school ethos and vision of 'Care, Coutesy and Consideration: preparing children for the world beyond the window' this fantastic course was a must.

We all learnt about how to help and get help, deal with an unconcious casualty, to carry out CPR and to help someone who is choking.

Jo Moore, who delivered the course, brought all of her equipment and gave the children a really hands on experience.  She also highlighted the importance of community defibrillators and how we can all locate those nearest to use by using the following website: Defib finder – find the defibrillators nearest you.
